The COPS program is a partnership between the City of Spokane neighborhood residents, the Police Department and the Department of Corrections to help make their community a safer place to live.COPS is staffed by neighborhood volunteers who provide community resource information and handle complaints. Block Watch, a program of COPS is a communication program that focuses on crime prevention by educating and involving neighbors to reduce their risk of becoming victims.

Blockwatch, Operation ID, School McGruff Programs, Victim Assistance, Residential and Commercial Security Surveys, Personal Safety Presentations, Robbery Prevention, etx. This position is closely tied to the Sheriff's Community Oriented Policing Effort (SCOPE) and provides neighborhood resource officer services to the SCOPE effort.
