Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Free. Once each month commodities and other food items are delivered to low-income persons who are homebound, meaning they are unable to leave their home without assistance and have no other mobile person living with them. Interested persons can call the Second Harvest Food Bank for an eligibility determination based n their situation.

Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - Noon and 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. Free. Provides food and a clothing bank, sandwiches and coffee on some evenings, and a place for physical and spiritual help. No one is required to attend services in order to eat. Evening food is served on Wednesday, Friday, and every 3rd Saturday, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Saturday breakfasts from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Dinner is served, 7:00 p.m. the last Sunday of the month. The food and clothing bank hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., appointment is necessary. Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Free. Provides commodities and other food items to low-income 5-year-old children and seniors, 60 years of age and over. The package also includes nutritional and community resource information. The once-a-month supplemental food package may be picked up at area CSFP food pantries or delivered to homebound individuals. Leave a message with your name and phone number at the contact phone number and the program coordinator will return the call.

Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Free. Provides small group classes held throughout most of Spokane for homemakers with young children. Classes prepare sample dishes and teach about nutrition, planning meals , shopping for good, storing and preserving food. Groups are informal and usually held in homes and local agencies. Children can attend. Classes also meet at most Head Start and ECEAP Centers. Parents may ask for additional lessons in positive parenting.

Administers and provides home delivered, hot, noon meals to senior citizens 60 years and other eligible adults living within the city who are unable to prepare adequate or appropriate meals because of physical, mental or emotional limitations due to illness, accident, frailty or disability. Meals for some lo-income elderly are subsidized with federal funds administered by Health District through ALTCEW. Also serves meals to homebound individuals under the age of 60 years with a doctor's note. Mid-City is the service provider.

Delivers hot nutritious meals to elderly or disabled persons of the Spokane Valley who are essentially homebound and unable to prepare meals for themselves. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday as well as frozen meals for weekends and liquid nutrition. We also operate two Senior Lunch Programs, where seniors that are not homebound can enjoy a meal together.  Volunteers needed.

First Saturday each month; 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Free. A monthly supplemental program that provides food and non-food items to households transitioning from welfare to work. The food package is distributes at the Second Harvest Food Bank warehouse on Front Avenue. Families receive a voucher from program partners for participation in employment training programs. Program partners include DSHS, Wage Progression, Worker Retraining, TECC, Casey Family Partners, Life Skills/Women's Programs, IEL, ESL, and Families that Work. Contact your family services worker at these agencies to see if you are eligible.

Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Free. A program dedicated to the relief of hunger and increased well-being of low-income families, the physically and mentally disabled, and the elderly through the distribution of complete vegetable gardens. The vegetable beds are created in the family's own yard or located in neighborhood community gardens. The gardens include premium garden soil, seeds and starts, instructions and volunteer mentors. Applications accepted year-round with garden space assigned in January and February each year.

The following food pantries are part of the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Inland Northwest. Provides emergency food to families. Some sites also provide the Commodity Supplemental Food Program package, a monthly supplemental food box for 5-year-old children and seniors 60 years of age and over. Zip codes determine which food pantry a family should use. Most food pantries require picture identification, current proof of address, and identification for all household members. Must be over 18 years old. Some agencies may also have non-food essentials.

Monday - Friday, dates vary. Free. Nutritious breakfasts and lunches are served to children up to age 18 at many parks and schools in the City of Spokane. Call for times and loctations.

WIC

Women, Infants and Children Supplemental food program. Days and hours vary, call for ingormation. Free. Probides health and nutrition risk screening, nutrition education, redeemable grocery store checks for nutritious foods and referral to other community services and organizations. Service is limited according to available funds and degree of medical or nutritional risk for pregnant mothers or their infants and young children to age five (all receive medical screenings).

Programs and networking encouraged. Although a service for women and children, young men can be served if they come with a female parent or guardian.
